2nd Grade!!

Back to school time!
Here is Jenna all ready for her first day of 2nd grade
even her nails matched her outfit!

She Swims!!

This past Summer we started Jenna again in swim lessons. She hadn't done lessons since she was 3!! Getting glasses changed her confidence in the water, so we didn't push the issue. But this summer she showed an interest in learning to swim, so we rolled with it :)
She surprised us right from her first lesson. She never threw a fit for the teacher and did everything she asked. She even happily wore her prescription swim goggles!!
Jenna also got an added bonus by having swimming lessons everyday while she was down in Medford at her cousins home. So after just 3 months of lessons, Jenna is now swimming on her own without any floats!!
She absolutely loves it and we are so proud of her :)

A visit from the West family

At the end of July, Jenna was invited to go down and stay with her cousins in Medford OR for a few weeks.
She had such a great time being apart of the West family. Among the many fun things they did were swim, learning to play tennis, library visits, children's museum and lots of cousin play time!
We sure did miss having her but knew she was making great memories. It was so gracious of the West family to take care of her for such a long period of time :)
After Jenna's stay at their home, they all drove up and stayed with us for a week (except for Uncle Lance and their two oldest boys). So the party continued!!!
Here are some highlights--some of the pics are out of order.
Here the kids are under the Space Needle.
The Seattle Childrens Museum was a first for us as well. The kids had a blast!
Checking out the rest of the Seattle Center--next time we'll have to plan to stop and play in the water :)
Children's Museum--grocery shopping! This was one of the cutest things ever to watch!!
 Building a tower
Another day we visited Newcastle Beach Park--the sun didn't come out to play much this day but the kids still enjoyed themselves! Here is Leah and Macy.
Whitney, Sierra and Jenna found mussels in the water and along the swimming ropes.
Leah helping to bury Jenna-- Leah was  a crack up with the sand. At first she didn't like getting her feet and hands in the sand, then she couldn't get enough of playing in it! She had sand EVERYWHERE by the time we left. It is not fun to get sand out of hair!!
Point Defiance Zoo was another place we visited. The kids got to go on a Camel ride!
Jenna was just a tad nervous--but at the end of the day said it was her favorite thing :)
 Petting an armadillo
Sunni wanted to take her kids to see the Seattle Temple--we had never taken the girls to walk around the grounds. I'm so glad we did, it was such a wonderful visit!!
Here are Leah and Bryson--we made make crayons (melting pieces into molds). They are watching them melt through the oven window.
This was taken at the West's home in Medford. Aunt Sunni curled the girls hair all fancy for church.
 So cute!!!
The West's were here for our neighborhood National Night Out event.
Here is Sunni with the kiddos checking out the helicopter!
Group shot of the cousins in front of the Temple.
It was a busy week, filled with many wonderful memories! I am so grateful for the time my kids get to spend with their cousins. Those are some of my fondest memories growing up, which I am sure will be for my kids as well.
Thank you West family for having Jenna stay with you and then coming up to visit us!!

Leah's 2nd Birthday!

Since we have had a lot happening in our family this past month, I wanted to get all caught up on the blog! Then I can start posting pics of our new little addition to our family :)
Here is Leah's 2nd birthday celebration!
We actually celebrated a little early, while we were with the Moore side of the family at Spirit Lake. It's always more fun to celebrate with lots of family, especially with all the cousins.
We threw Leah an Elmo party to fit her obsession at the time. Thanks to Pinterest for all of the wonderful ideas/inspiration.
There were Elmo cupcakes, Elmo visors, #2 shaped cookies, Dorothy goldfish crackers complete with a personalized Leah street sign! And of course a tickle me Elmo doll :)
Leah couldn't get enough of the goldfish crackers. Which she preferred over her cupcake even!
The cuteness factor wasn't enticing enough for her.
She got a little freaked of the lit candle and the whole group singing to her.
I love this picture of the two girls together!
 Birthday girl!!
Playing with her new tickle me Elmo :)
She got this Elmo doll from Grandma and Grandpa Moore. Which she slept with every night!!
Leah loves Elmo!!
We had such a great time celebrating our sweet girl Leah.
She is one crazy 2 yr. old who we love very much!

Moore Family Reunion

The second week of July we headed over to Spirit Lake, ID for a reunion with my family.
We could not have asked for better weather, it was beautiful everyday!!
There were a few hiccups in our week, starting the week off with my sis Shannon cracking 2 vertebrate in her lower back during a tube ride. It was pretty scary having an ambulance come take her to the hospital but thankfully she was back home that same night. Then ending the week with my brother in law, Joe, getting 13 staples in the top of his head from a fall while riding the air chair. Again, he was back at the cabin that evening. Such a blessing that both of the incidents were not worse!
On the flip side here are some pics of the fun times :)
Playing in the sand and water
Leah chillin' in her sunglasses--she loves her glasses and wears them everywhere, even inside stores. She gets lots of compliments!!
Playing in the water all day long!!
Leah finally getting in the water with her dad's help
Swimming together--this was the first year Jenna has really enjoyed swimming. She would swim to the dock and back by herself with her life jacket. She is very close to swimming with a float!
Going on a Pirate Treasure Hunt-- thank you Aunt Lexi!
Bailey, Jenna, Brooklyn and Talan
Sydney, Bailey and Leah-- Leah just adores Bailey, she would call for Bailey even in her sleep!!
Taking a crack at the pirate ship pinata--the moms had to step in and finally get it to break!!
Leah enjoying some pirates booty (a ring pop)--can you guess the color :)
Brooklyn and Jenna taking a break from swimming
We took family pictures. This one makes me laugh, Leahs expression is priceless!
These two are only 4 months apart.
 The whole gang
Siblings-
Shannon, Chelsea, Me, Lexi, Gretchen and Connor
I've said it before and it won't be the last-- I absolutely love coming here to my grandparents cabin in Spirit Lake. I am so glad that my children get to experience it and make lasting memories just like I have from my childhood. It is always wonderful to get to spend quality time with family!!

4th of July!

This year was the first year in a LONG time that we were actually home to celebrate the 4th!
We finally got to attend our ward pancake breakfast, flag ceremony and bike rodeo. We had a great time. Here are the girls with their 4th of July bike flair!

Pictures after in their patriotic gear-- it was such a beautiful sunny day

Having fun with Jell-O jigglers. The girls-mostly Jenna-ate so many I'm surprised they didn't get sick :)
Sparkler fun with our neighbors the Turleys.
Later that night Chad took Jenna to the nearby firework show at Lake Wilderness, while I stayed home with Leah. Too late for her, maybe next year :)
