Ok, Ok...I had to do it! Sorry to be such a tease, it's just too much fun :)
Emily is not a baby. Well, human baby anyway. She is about 9 weeks old. Besides, you all know me way too well. If I was pregnant or adopting a baby I wouldn't be able to keep that a secret! So, Emily is a pet. I'll post pics on Monday so you can all see her.

February Fun
We hosted a mom and me baking party! The girls brought their aprons and made heart shaped sugar cookies, which they later decorated. Pictured from left to right: Kennedi Brower, Riley Tyler, Jane Singley and Jenna. Riley's hat was so adorable!!

Groundhog's day
I know this is late, but I had to share it. Jenna made this at preschool, it makes me laugh :) It's a cute idea though, she talked about groundhogs and shadows all that day.

Random thoughts
I have to write this down before I forget. This is more for me, so it will probably be long :)
Jenna loves to listen to stories from/about her Grandparents. Ex: she will ask us "Tell me a story about when Grandma Lonna was little". This started over Christmas when we were visiting Chad's family. Chad's parents told the grandkids diff. stories about them growing up and such.
So, it got me thinking about all of the stories I was told when I was little. The first that came to my mind was "Wiley" (sp?) from my uncle Ken. Then I remembered something about a troll or giant from my Grandma Ogzewalla. But, I couldn't recall the whole story, just that he sat on something. Odd I know.
Well, this last weekend we went and visited my family in Spokane. So I asked my Grandma to tell the story to Jenna. It was so fun to watch Jenna as she heard the story, it was more of a poem/song. Jenna and Brooklyn (my sisters little girl) just sat their so still listening with big eyes. It was so cute!! Then they laughed at the end. My Grandma repeated it a few more times and they loved it. I will have to have her write it down for me, so I can remember how it goes. It brought back a lot of memories of her telling it to me and my cousins at our family reunions.
Later that night, while we were putting Jenna to bed she told us her own version of the story.
It went like this:
Jenna: "I was riding my bike. I looked right, left and right again" Pause
Me: "Then what happened?"
Jenna: "The troll jumped out of the woods, so I ran away"
Me: " what did you do?"
Jenna: "I went to the trolls house. There was a shelf" long thinking pause "with shadow puppets on it!" (we had just been making diff. shadows with our hands on the wall) :)
-up until this point she was so serious, but then we all started laughing after she mentioned shadow puppets. I can't remember the end. She usually ends her stories with "and then I was safe" It was so cute. It was great hearing her tell us a story before bed.

Hooray for new furniture!
We just got some new furniture for the house. We have been wanting these for awhile and finally got them. Big thanks to Bart, my sisters husband, he has a furniture and mattress company in Spokane.
Here is Jenna's new bed. It used to be Connor's bed, but he is getting a new one and so we are the lucky new owners! Jenna just loves it, she sleeps great in it. Lots more room to roll around. No more finding her half way off of her toddler bed in the middle of the night :) Plus, it'll be fun to have the extra bed when family comes to visit. No comforter yet, I am planning on making matching quilts for the top and bottom bunk. We'll see how that goes. Here is our new bed and night stands. We love our new mattress as well, Chad finally has his Cal. King that he has longed for. Prior to this we had never had a bed frame, so we are excited to have a nice bedroom set. Next step: painting and decorating the room!

It's fun to be a girl
Jenna and I have been experimenting with her hair!! Who remembers the sponge rollers?? I have to admit that when I was pregnant, the moment I found out I was having a girl I went out and bought them :) My mom put them in my hair all the time when I was younger. So, Jenna let me put them in her hair and was such a big girl sleeping in them all night. I was super impressed she left them in. The result: crazy curls!! I didn't even know what to do with it, I ended up just clipping back the front. Jenna absolutely loved it and couldn't stop checking herself out in the mirror! Right after taking the rollers out
Another day I braided her hair right after her bath. The next day: wavy/crimped hair! Much more subtle than the sponge rollers. I love how girlie she is! I am sure one day it will be too much but for now I am lovin' it.
