Jenna sayings

I have to write these down so I don't forget :)

--"Mom, I am so lucky, this show just came on without using the remote!": spoiled by the DVR.

--"I am going to sit by you so you won't be lonely. I'll keep you company!": I was eating lunch at the table and Jenna and Chad were at the island. Its easier for me to sit and eat the table with my prego belly than the island right now.

--"We need two kids so we can have partners": Jenna was trying to decide who to snuggle with on the couch. She chose me and told Chad that the baby will be his partner. For the record, she never chooses me, she is a daddy's girl. But lately she keeps talking about how Dad will take care of the baby and I will take care of her. Sounds good to me :)

And last not but not least, a little story reported to us from her primary sub. last Sunday:
During Jenna's class time, the teacher asked if they should start with an opening song. Jenna suggested that they sing "I am a Child of God" because it is her favorite. The teacher said Ok and invited the whole class to start singing. Jenna then said "No, you sing and I will dance!" apparently she insisted on this again after the teacher suggested that they should all sing together. So end result, Jenna danced while the rest of the class and teacher sang the song :)
That girl would just be happy to dance all day long. I think she gets it from Chad!!

BabyHawk

I just got my BabyHawk in the mail today and I am so excited!!
This is the baby carrier that I chose, it is a mei tai style so it ties around you.
I picked out the panel fabric and had it made into a pocket.
This way when I walk Jenna to and from school, I'll have a place to keep my phone, keys, whatever :)
Its funny how exciting baby gear is. Or maybe its just me?!

If you want more info. you can check out www.babyhawk.com
I even found a coupon online that made it not quite so pricey :)

Take me out to the ball game...

Last Tues. night was Latter Day Saint night at Safeco Field. It was our first time attending and we had a blast. Our ward sat all together, so that made it extra fun. Especially for those moms who enjoy chatting :) Plus, we all received complimentary shirts and hats. Pretty sweet!
Here are some pics from the evening. I only got a few pics from my camera before it died (way to plan Lindsey) so we used Chad's phone for the rest of the night. Correction, Jenna took pictures with Chad's phone for the rest of the night. Which was a highlight for Jenna, right after getting to sit by her good friend Addi. They had a great time hanging out, eating cotton candy, taking pictures and cracking open peanuts then crushing/stomping on the shells. So, even though the Mariners lost we still had a great time at the ball game.

Fun with Foam Rollers

This will bring you back to the 80's. While organizing Jenna's bathroom closet, look what we found...the ever popular foam rollers! I have to admit, this was one of my first purchases after finding out I was having a girl when I was pregnant with Jenna. Fond memories from my childhood I guess :)
Jenna has been asking if she can sleep with them in her hair.
Here she is making a silly face all ready for bed. They were starting to bug her a little, but she told us that she would just ignore it. Already making sacrifices for beauty!
And this morning...
You can pretty much see the excitement bursting from her in this pic.
As of this morning, all of her Barbie's have the rollers in their hair, even the Barbie horse.
"They all need beautiful hair Mom!"

Low tide at Seahurst Park

Recently we checked out the low tide at Seahurst Park in Burien. It was the lowest tide of the year, and there were naturalist at the park pointing out the different marine life.
This was a first for us and our friends, the Greenwoods, joined us. We also saw many friends from our ward in Renton :)
Rainboots were a must, and I was so glad that the kids had them. I am going to invest in a pair for myself just for outings like these! Notice all the seaweed in the picture below. Flip flops are not the best when trying to navigate through the slippery seaweed.

There were a lot of dead crabs, but this one above was alive and movin'. This was also one of the bigger crabs we saw. We got to see a few little ones swimming around in the shallowest part of the tide.
We ran into the Singley family, who originally told us about the low tide (Thanks so much Meg!) Here are the girls, with a purple sea star. These boulders had lots of marine life around, under, and on top of them. When the tide is in they are mostly covered with water!
We had a great time and saw a lot of marine life--Oyster shells, Blue mussels, small/large hermit crabs, Crabs, Sea stars, Jelly fish and red sea cucumbers.
This will be something we will look forward to doing every year!

Day 4-- Fireworks!!

Ok, so I just want to be caught up already! Jenna got to enjoy 2 days of fireworks.
Saturday night, the kids did snap dragons and sparklers.
Here's the group watching the bigger ones in the street
Sunday the Fourth of July-- the girls wore matching dresses to church, so adorable!
The Brothers--sorry Justin this was the best one I got.
Trying to take a picture of these 3 is almost impossible! Well, let me correct that, trying to take a good picture minus leaves in their mouths, crossed eyes, etc. They are all goof balls!
Also note: they are standing on a hill, Chad is normally the tallest :)
Grandma and Grandpa with the grandkids--minus 4
Arriving back home just in time to watch the neighborhood fireworks
Jenna was inspired to make some fireworks of her own
That night Jenna had a hard time falling asleep due to the constant pop and bang of fireworks. When she woke up the next morning, Jenna said "Fireworks are annoying, I couldn't fall asleep"
Annoying is here new favorite word as of late to describe things that she doesn't like. It's a crack up :)
A big thank you to the West family for hosting everyone. We had a great time, and enjoyed spending time with everyone.
No more vacations for us for awhile, don't get me wrong we have loved every minute of them.
I am just happy to be home, taking it easy, waiting for this baby girl to arrive.
Happy Summer everyone!

Day 3 -- South Umpqua Falls, OR

We spent the day playing at the South Umpqua Falls. It was a beautiful locations.
These are the natural water slides.
This was where the kids played, off to the side. Aunt Sunni caught little minnows for the kids!
Some of the guys enjoying the rock slides. Even Emily got a turn.
Jenna's minnow (not sure if I'm spelling that right?)
Chad taking Emily down the slide. Downside: Chad got some good scratches from Emily while swimming to the surface.
Chad diving, almost missed him :)
We missed part of our group this day, due to car trouble.
But it was a great to place to spend a sunny day. We'll have to go again, when I can participate more :)

Day 2 -- 4th of July weekend

Day 2
We celebrated Macy's 3rd birthday!
She had a pony party, we drove to a nearby farm where the kids got to ride a pony.
I cannot even begin to describe the excitement on the kids faces when we arrived.
Randomly the previous week, Jenna was asking if she could ride a horse, so she got her wish :)
The kids waiting to ride the pony.
The girls are wearing the skirts Grandma Lonna made, so cute!
Feeding the ponies apples and carrots. Jenna was timid at first but that didn't last long.
Jenna and Macy, the birthday girl
All the girls in their skirts, little Lucy wasn't quite so sure about the ponies
Chad feeding the pony, mouth to mouth. You can see the carrot dropping, but Chad still got quite the mouth full. YUCK!!
Thanking the pony for the ride. Jenna was pretty comfortable around the ponies, constantly petting and asking for more food to feed them with.
Our little Cowgirl!
Present time, Happy Birthday Macy!
Ending the day with S'mores :)

Happy Birthday Chad!

The Scuba pics are being put on hold while Chad sorts through them all :)
But in the meantime, here are some pics from our 4th of July weekend with Chad's family down in Medford, OR. We missed the Jonas family, but look forward to seeing them in Aug.!
Day 1-July 1st, was Chad's birthday.
We celebrated with a pool party, grilling steaks for dinner and a Scuba themed birthday cake. One of Chad's favorite dives in the Bahamas was the shark dive, so that is where I got the idea. Turns out I even got the color of the "water" right :)

The fondant decorations are courtesy of my sister Chelsea. They turned out perfect, and Chad really liked it! Thanks sister, you are amazing :)
Pool Party--Jenna, Whitney, Sierra and Carter
Getting ready to sing Happy Birthday to the Birthday boy!
Showing the shark whose boss
His piece of cake
Bryson really enjoyed the cake!
Cousins playing on the trampoline

We always enjoy getting together with Chad's family. Jenna loves to play with her cousins too. They are all close in age and get along great. We even brought our dog, Emily, with us. So a big thank you to the West family for putting up with her :) Emily was in heaven with all of kids giving her so much attention.
Stay tuned for Day 2 of our trip!
