What a great day celebrating Chad!

I am so grateful for Chad. He is a terrific husband and a wonderful father. Our girls completely adore him and love just being around him.

Last Day of School

I cannot believe that Kindergarten is over and Jenna is now a 1st grader!!

Here she is with her teacher, Mrs. Tabit. We both loved her and will miss her.

She was perfect for Jenna.

I will always think of her when Jenna answers me with the sign for no instead of telling me with words :)

It really was a great year and Jenna learned so much. She has an even greater love for reading which is wonderful to see. Her favorite part of Kindergarten was of course recess!!

The last day of school was also "move up" day, where the kids get to meet their next year teacher and visit with their new classmates. Jenna is excited to have one of her girl friends from her Kg class in her 1st grade class with her.

Then afterward we had an "End of Year" pizza party with the Kindergarten kids from our ward.

It was a lot of fun.

What I love about it most is that it uses up my fabric scraps. And really it was easy, so you have to give it a try. If you do send me some pics :)

I'm 30!!

Turns out being 30 isn't so bad!

Unfortunately we didn't get many pictures, but it was still a great day.

Chad made me a delicious brownie caramel cheesecake.

My dear friend, JoLynn, threw me a birthday lunch with friends from the ward. I am so grateful for the friendships I have and am making with those wonderful women.

Then later that day, Chad told me to be ready to leave around 5. He had a babysitter all lined up. He completely surprised me with dinner at the Olive Garden with some of our closest friends.

Dinner was a blast and I was super impressed with Chad's organizing skills :)

Memorial Weekend part 2

The other exciting event during our Memorial Weekend was the sealing of my sister, Lexi, to her husband Joe and their 2 children!

It was a busy month for their family and we couldn't be happier for them.

It was so special to be with their family in the Temple.

I loved taking the kids to see the Temple. Especially the Spokane Temple, where their Dad and Mom were sealed :)

Later that day we had an even larger family get together with the Moore side. My Grandpa and Grandma Moore were in town, so it was great to get to visit with them. Plus they had yet to meet Leah! Two of my Dad's sisters also live in Spokane, so they along with some of their families came up to my parents house.

It was great hanging out with my cousins and having our kids play together.

I am so blessed to have such great relationships with my family and extended family members!

**And if that wasn't all enough, Leah cut her first tooth this weekend as well! Poor thing was a bit miserable. We had been waiting for that little tooth to break through for awhile!**

Memorial Weekend part 1

Our Memorial Weekend was super packed with lots of family fun.

First up, Girls Night Out at Wicked!

It was a big birthday celebration for all of us. I have always wanted to see this play and it did not disappoint, It was AMAZING!

My Aunt Rosie was also in town and happened to get a ticket in the row right in front of us. What luck!!

The car ride to and from was just as fun as the event :)

It was Gretchen's actual birthday. Happy Birthday Sister!!

After the show, our unsuspecting pic with "Fiyero" (down front)!

He jumped in right before my Aunt took the picture, telling us it was our lucky day. We all didn't understand what was going on but just stood there smiling. He then told us that he played "Fiyero" in the play. At first no one believed him, but turned out it really was him!!

I guess it was our lucky night :)

Out of order

My blog posting style seems to be all at once or none at all.

And now I am going out of order!

I can't believe I haven't posted about our amazing Memorial weekend. Maybe it's the fact that my sister, Lexi, beat me in posting it to her blog first! (Just teasing, love you Lexi!)

Or posting about me turning the big 3-0!! I promise to share those pics soon.

In the meantime I have to share a fun girls afternoon from last Saturday.

It was prompted by the Our Best Bites ladies making a visit here in Seattle. And as many of you know I am a huge fan and love all of their recipes. So of course I wanted their cookbook and to meet them in person :)

The book signing we attended was up at University Village. Which also is home to another favorite of mine, Trophy cupcakes! (they do have a few other locations)

Pictured are the Neapolitan and Pina Colada cupcakes. The Strawberry frosting on the Neapolitan was amazing and everything about the Pina Colada cupcake was to die for! I really want to try and somehow recreate it. Not my strong suite, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know :)

Here we are, cookbooks in hand, with the ladies of Our Best Bites. They were both really nice and fun to talk with.
