Last day of Preschool

Today was Jenna's last day of preschool! (she still has one more year until Kindergarden)
I am amazed at how much she has grown this last year. It is really fun to look back on.

Isn't Jenna just lovely!! Of all the things a child could choose from!

Smiley class photo.

Jenna's favorite things from preschool:
Song: Down by the Bay
Letters: A and O
Musical instrument: Symbols and Drums
Activity: snack time, music time, dress up clothes and making projects.
Jenna's favorite thing after preschool was putting that days project on our special project wall.
Fun things: She learned the Pledge of Allegiance. My favorite part is the end where she adds "Please sit down". It is not complete without it :)

One race down...

One of my new year resolutions was to complete 2 5k's.
Last sat. my stake held a 5k/10k Trek around the Trail. And as you can see by my race # I was a little eager to register :)
Before the race

After the race, still smiling!

My good friend Kristin, ran/walked with me. I really enjoyed having her there to talk with and keep me going :) She was so sweet to stay with me, even though she could have ran the whole thing easily! We did finish 2 min. faster than my last race time, so that gives me lots of motivation for the next one.
So looking to the future, my next 5k is July 11th. And then in the fall I plan on doing the Christmas Rush fun run again.

I've almost completed my goal! Happy training!

I Spy Quilt

I recently helped throw a shower for my friend, Shelbi, who is due very soon with her third boy :) We wanted to do something different, and decided on making her a baby quilt. It was "I Spy" themed, so everyone brought 2 squares of the same fabric to make up the "I Spy" part. We spent the evening sewing, tying, snacking and of course chatting. It was a lot of fun and the quilt turned out super cute. A big thanks to the experienced quilters for being VERY patient with those of us who are still learning :)

Just like Mom

Already?!
I've been lucky that Jenna has never actually gotten into my makeup. However, she loves my powder compact, mainly because it has a mirror. So, whenever I use one up, I clean it out and it becomes Jenna's. She asks for a cotton ball, and she is set.

The other day we were getting ready to go somewhere and she says "just a minute Mom" and pulls out her compact! She proceeds to "powder" her nose, forehead and chin all while checking herself out in the little mirror.

Often I think they know us better than we know ourselves! And they do a wonderful job of bringing it all to light :)

28 and feeling good!

Wow, look at all those candles!! Yesterday I turned 28. It was a terrific day. The sun was shining, my wonderful friend Meg came over and made me a tasty Thai lunch with dessert. Our girls played, her little boy slept, so we were able to chat and enjoy the food.
When Chad got home he made his famous (with our family) crab cakes for dinner. So good! followed by ice cream cake and presents. Chad and Jenna suprised me with a lighted magnifying mirror that mounts on the wall and extends out. I've wanted one ever since we moved into our house. It makes getting ready very nice :)
Then later in the evening our good friends, the Tylers, stopped by for a visit and thankfully helped in eating the ice cream cake. I would so much rather share than eat the whole thing myself, because you all know that I could :)
Family, friends, great food, what more could you want?! So far, 28 is great!
