A little Valentines craft

Another craft project :) Here are the "LOVE" blocks I just made with a good friend. Same friend that I made the "FALL" blocks with. I'm already thinking of the next holiday that we can make blocks for. They are just too fun to make!

My Handyman

I have to brag about my husband for a moment, so bear with me.
Many of you know he enjoys DIY projects. I got him a subscription to "Handyman" magazine a little while back, which he really likes. This months mag. gave an idea on making your own dividers for baking sheets & pans. We have always wanted this for our kitchen, or should I say I have :) So last night, Chad informs me this is what he wanted to do today. So for $11.00 and some creativity on Chads part (yes, Chad can be quite creative). In place of a pull out drawer, we now have wonderful organized baking sheets and pans. He did a great job, I love it!
Here's another little project I have always wanted for our Den/office. I mod podged a large paper mache "J". The paper does have a suttle design/texture to it, it's hard to see in the pic. Nothing too fancy, since this room is suppose to be more masculine :) Right now its more Lindsey's craft room explosion. I'm working on organizing this room next!

A Jenna moment

Jenna's teacher told me something cute from school today, that I wanted to share.
Today was Show and Smell, they were focusing on the five senses. Jenna chose to bring some flowers, which she said smelled like pollen :)
So each child got to stand up and invite another child to come and smell the item they brought. The first time Jenna's name was called, she stood up did an arabesque and then walked over to smell the item. The second time her name was called, she stood up twirled and then went to smell the item. The teacher said it was hilarious, she was wanting the kids to keep calling Jenna's name so she could see what Jenna would do next!
I tell ya, she has turned into quite the performer. I guess its a good thing we signed her up for ballet again!

New year, new Primary class

Jenna is now a CTR 4! She came home talking nonstop about how CTR stands for Choose The Right. This is going to be a good reminder for all of us :)

Christmas vacation with the Moore's

We had a great time visiting my family in Spokane. It was fun having everyone together. Highlights included:
-4wheeling in the snow/ playing in the snow
-hot tubing: after playing in the snow Jenna said "I'm exhausted, I need to go warm up in the hot tub. Where's my swimsuit mom?"
-visiting with grandparents and great grandparents
-"Real" Bowling (as Jenna called it after playing multiple Wii bowling games)
-staying up late playing the Wii with my siblings
-eating way too much good food
-walking every morning with my mom
-2 movies: Chipmunks and Avatar
-Jump and Bounce for Jenna and Brooklyn
-shopping
-playing games with the family
-Outback on New Years Eve with the Adults (missing Bart & Gretchen)
And I am sure I'm forgetting things, we really had a fun packed wonderful vacation!

Christmas Day

With how excited Jenna was the night before I would have never guessed that Chad and I would have been the first to wake up. Jenna didn't wake up until just before 9:00!! I'm not sure that'll ever happen again, but it was really nice :)
It was a beautiful sunny morning. We all enjoyed opening presents, and watching the look on eachothers faces. Jenna designated herself as the present distributor. I dropped the ball on breakfast, burning the muffins, so next year I'll make up for it!
After playing with our new toys for a little bit, we packed up and drove over to Spokane to visit my family. We opened more gifts there, Jenna recieved her Snow white doll that she had asked for. She was pretty thrilled. We then had another wonderful meal with the family, followed by lots of Wii playing!

Christmas Eve

How we celebrated Christmas eve:
-went to a movie "Princess and the Frog"
-made cookies for Santa
-yummy Christmas ham dinner
-Read the nativity from the scriptures. Jenna was Mary, while I moved our nativity figurines for the other parts :)
-opened up our Christmas jammies. Chad didn't ask for jammies so we let him open up a diff. present.
-Read the night before Christmas.
-Had Jenna in bed by 8:00. Jenna didn't actually fall alseep until closer to 9. She was just too excited for Santa to come. She would say "did he come already" (after being in bed for only 10 min.), ending with a tearful "It's just too hard to wait"
-After Jenna was finally asleep, Santa came and let Chad and I play our Wii game. Keeping us up way too late.
