New glasses for Jenna!

Jenna just got her glasses today!! Right when they put them on her she was a little upset, then they gave her some balloons and she was good to go!! She ran around the whole store, stopping at every mirror to check herself out!! She has been really good to keep them on, every now and then she will take them off but is glad to put them back on again! So far so good! We think she looks pretty cute! They are even her favorite color, Pink!
For those that didn't know, we took Jenna to the eye doctor about a week ago. We found out that she is extremely farsighted and she has been crossing her one eye to focus close up. She will always have to wear glasses now, but we are so glad we caught this early so it didn't get worse!
She seems to happier with the glasses, we will keep you all updated!

Christmas letter 2007

Jenna- is your typical 2 1/2 yr. old girl! She loves to dance, jump and sing! Her favorite songs to sing lately are the ABC's, rock a bye baby, A happy family and I am a child of God! Every night we sing her list of songs! She is such a joy to have around and she always keeps us busy! We wish we had her endless energy!

Chad-This year he was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of being Scuba certified! He has enjoyed diving in the Puget Sound with friends and coming dangerously close to Ferries! He continues to enjoy working for Northwest Laundry Supply. He is also currently serving in the Elders Quorum presidency.

Lindsey- has been busy trying to keep up with Jenna! She spends most of her time taking Jenna to the library, playgroups, parks, zoo and anywhere else a 2 yr. old can release some energy! She was just recently released from the ward Primary presidency and has just begun serving in the Young Womens presidency! Whenever she has free time she enjoys making cards, scrapbooking and updating the family blog!

We hope this Christmas season finds you all well! We are so grateful for this time of year to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ! We are so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends as you!

Christmas Tree

We went and got a Christmas tree on Dec. 1st! We went to our local Fred Meyer tree farm! :) It was such a great day because other than getting a tree, we woke up to snow! Jenna loved watching the snow fall from the sky! Then it snowed again in the afternoon! What a treat!

When we got the tree home, Jenna could not stay away from it! She had a few time outs due to hitting the tree and pulling on the branches which made a million needles fall on the floor! She just loves the lights and always says "ooooh pretty" when we turn on the Christmas lights! Maybe we will have to get a fake tree next year! We hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season so far!!

Thanksgiving with the Jergensen's

This is dedicated to the Jergensen family members! We had a great time visiting with family, playing with cousins, making and eating great food, facials with the girls, Paintballing with the boys, swimming in the heated pool, hot chocolate at the Ashland parade, Seeing Santa, storytime with Grandpa, the suprise Santa visit, getting to sit on Santa's lap, and making great memories!! A big thank you to the West family for hosting the family gathering!! We really appreciated it!!

Miss Manners

Jenna recently started to tell us "No way" when she didn't want to do something! It got old really fast! We asked her to say no, thank you instead! So then we would hear "No, thank you" to everything! We try to reinforce her good manners by telling her "Thank you for using your manners!" So as of yesterday we now hear "No, thank you. I am saying my manners!" It is pretty cute! It is amazing how quick they pick things up!!

Turkey treat

Here is a cute idea for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday! These would make great FHE treats, Visiting teaching treats, etc. My mom reminded me that we use to make these. We made them for FHE tonight and they were a little bit harder than I remember, but still cute and fun!

Ingredients: Oreo cookies, candy corn, Whoppers, red hots and frosting

tip: it helps to break the back Oreo cookie in half, that way you have a flat edge on the bottom to attach it with

Quick potty training update

Potty training is on hold for a little while! We were having accident after accident and it just got too much for me!! I really didn't think potty training would be hard! Boy was I wrong! So, I am waiting a little bit until Jenna seems more interested! On the bright side, when she does show more interest I am already set with all the potty supplies!!

Halloween fun!

Here is Jenna at our ward Halloween party! The other little girl in the pics dressed as an Indian is her friend Jane! There is also pics of us carving pumpkins for FHE! Jenna would check dads pumpkin to make sure it was all cleaned out! After close inspection she would look up at him and say "keep going!" It was pretty funny!! We hope everyone had a spooktacular halloween!

Here is a quick video from the kernel pit. It was so much fun, Jenna had a blast! I learned a new lesson in video recording today... I need to keep my mouth shut!! I was talking way too much (suprise, suprise)! Enjoy!

potty training update

It has been only two days and I think potty training is going to be the end of me!! I have been using an egg timer to remind me to put Jenna on the potty, it has really helped, Jenna even knows now what to expect when the timer rings. This is a true test of patience though, I am trying to stay positive! So far we have had success on the potty mixed with accidents! I cannot take my eye off of her, every time I do I hear her say "uh-0h"! Well, we will see what this upcoming week brings us! I will keep everyone posted!

I just went to a garage sale today and got some great things for Jenna! I got a little touch LeapPad, which is really lots of fun, a sunday dress and a Dora backpack! Guess what is Jenna's favorite? The first thing she said when she saw it was "Backpack!!" and then started to look for Map!! Thank goodness Map was included, I had forgot to check that!! She knows her Dora! She has been wearing it around for most of the day!

Potty training

I am getting ready to start potty training Jenna next week! Why next week? Well, since General Conference is the following Sat. and Sun. I won't have to worry about what to do during church! The plan is to have about 2 weeks where I don' t have to go anywhere!! I am a little nervous, I have been stocking up on underwear, flushable wipes and rewards! Wish me luck, I would appreciate any advice any of you may have!

Dress up!

Jenna loves to dress up! Here she is as ladybug/butterfly/ballerina! I guess it is time to add to the dress up box! She stayed in this outfit for most of the morning, running around waving her wand! It was so cute, I was laughing all morning!

Water baby

We recently went boating with our friends, the Parry's, on Lake Washington and Lake Union. It was a beautiful day and we all had a lot of fun! Jenna wanted to touch the water, so Chad held her over the side of the boat! (we were going pretty slow!) Jenna loved it! Check out that tongue, I am proud to say that it comes from my side of the family!!

O.k., I am new to this and really have no idea what I am doing! However, lately it seems as if everyone has a blog! So, I am joining the blogging world! Please bare with me as I figure this whole thing out!!
