Sweet little Leah

A little back story about the blessing gown--this was the same gown that Jenna was blessed in. I made it for a YW's project. I sent the yoke of the gown to my Great Grandmother (who has since passed away) to add her signature roses on it. I love that it's been worn twice now!

We had a wonderful time having both parents visiting. Leah and Jenna were pretty spoiled. I am so grateful that our families made the trip to share in this special day with us.

Chad has a new rookie :)

"...No Scary Boys"

First day of Kindergarten!

This morning, while eating breakfast, Jenna had a concerned look on her face and said, " I hope there are no scary boys in my class." (A scary boy to her are the boys who bug/push her buttons) I figured if this was the thing she was most worried about, we were doing pretty good.

So the first thing out of her mouth when we got home after K was, "I did great, there are no scary boys in my class!" And she did do great, no hesitations when I dropped her off. I managed to hold in the tears until she was in the building and I was walking home. It started with seeing how small she was compared to some of the other kids. She barely came up to their shoulders!! Then as the class walked into the building they all waved one last time to the parents, and that did me in. But I know that she was fine and was having a terrific time.

Here Jenna is the night before with her back to school dessert. She chose gummy bears, sprinkles and chocolate on her ice cream.

We painted her nails sparkly and I added hearts.

It is going to sound cheesy, but I told her that if she got nervous for any reason she could look at the hearts and feel loved. (Has anyone else seen the similar Walmart commercial?) When she got home, she told me that they helped and that she didn't need them anymore :)

Walking home

The walking group- Leah and I had a lot of fun walking Jenna to school. BTW, this is what I bought the babyhawk carrier for and it was wonderful.

Jenna cannot wait for Monday so she can go back. She kept saying how she is so excited to be able to go everyday. I asked what her favorite thing of the day was, she answered recess!

So we did it, we all survived :)

Our last few weeks

Leah is starting to chunk up and I love it :)

She'll be a month old tomorrow, where did the time go? I'm still in a sleep deprived fog, I can't believe Aug. is over!

Jenna loves to hold her sister and calls her "little princess"

I love how if Leah starts to cry, Jenna is the first to respond. Jenna will either talk or sing to her and Leah usually calms right down. Then she lets me know what Leah needs, "Mom she needs some food" or "She wants her diaper changed" Jenna is my baby interpreter.

This pic cracks me up. I was getting ready and I hear Jenna, "Quick mom go get your camera and take a picture of us" She pulled up Leah's hood and then dressed herself to match. And of course added the bunnies!

Every Friday evening for the month of Aug. a local church has put on activities in our neighborhood park. It has been a lifesaver, having something for Jenna to look forward to and being right across the street! There has been a game night, carnival night with bounce houses and drive in movie. The kids got to make their own "car". Chad was pretty pleased with the results! He set Jenna's camp chair inside so she could be more comfortable and cut holes in the bottom of her "car" so she could transport it.

He even added a cup holder for her soda! Chad has been great, taking her to all of these events.

So that is us as of now, enjoying the few lazy days we have left before school starts!
