Right now Jenna's class has two diff. animals!

An incubator warming eggs that will soon be hatching chicks.

And tadpoles that will be growing into frogs!

Kindergarten is so exciting!!!

Easter Morning

Easter morning we unfortunately all (except for Chad) had colds. So Chad went to church alone and there are no cute pics of the girls in their Easter dresses. Those pics will have to wait until next Sunday :)

Leah enjoyed her first Easter.

She was mostly interested in grabbing handfuls of grass that would immediately go straight into her mouth. Yuck!!

It was so cute watching her reach for the eggs. She never gave up. She would wiggle and roll until they were hers :)

Leah was so fascinated with the dyed eggs.

We made bunny orange rolls to go with dinner. The recipe/idea was from this month's Friend magazine. Very yummy!

Egg Hunts

The Saturday before Easter we could not have asked for more perfect weather.

Jenna got to enjoy two Egg hunts.

Our friends, The Greenwoods, invited us to join their neighborhood Egg hunt. Our husbands were scuba diving, so it was fun for us wives to get together with the kids and enjoy the Easter festivities.

Here Jenna had just found one of the golden eggs!

Which she redeemed for a jump rope!

She had a lot of fun running around hunting for the eggs.

Then a little later in the day, a family in our ward held another Egg hunt around their house. They went above and beyond and had real dyed eggs for the kids to find! Really cute and a lot of fun!

Crafty Chad

Chad has recently experienced the joy of my Silhouette cutter.

He had the idea of personalizing his air tanks for scuba diving.

His way was to cut his initials out of cardboard and use that as a stencil. Then I so kindly reminded him that I could make a stencil out of vinyl for him.

Here is what we created.

This is now his personal dive logo.

He asked me to make a few more vinyl versions for his dive log and such.

Who knew??

School Spirit

A week ago was crazy hair day at school. The night prior we put Jenna's hair in tiny braids. She loved the results the next morning. She said that she looked like a lion. But we didn't stop there.

This was so much fun. It was quite the scene while picking Jenna up from school. Lots of crazy hair! I think next year we might add some color to her do.

Leah's first haircut!

Tonight we said farewell to Leah's baby mullet.

What is it about babies hair that makes it so hard to part with? Leah never really lost her hair, it's thinned out, but she hasn't had the bald section in the back. But it needed to be evened out. I've been wanting it cut for so long, and today I couldn't take it any more so I did it myself.

Yes I agree, a bit scary!

However, it didn't turn out too bad. It's an improvement, so I am happy.

Leah was great during it all, we faced her toward the TV while Jenna was playing Mario Kart. Leah can't help but stare at the bright colors and chaos :)

It's also been awhile since Chad was featured on the blog. Here he is with the girls before bedtime just the night before. They sure do love their daddy :)

A long time in the making

I've had an idea of what I wanted our dinning area to look like since we moved in.

Slowly those ideas have been put together. While visiting us, you've probably noticed a frame still wrapped in the cellophane sitting on our shelf. Or more recently, just a blank spot right in the middle of the shelf.

Well, today this said shelf is unfinished no more!!

I've known that I wanted a pic of the space needle. We have been too cheap to buy a cool one from the farmers market. Not talented enough to take one of our own (we've tried and failed on multiple occasions).

So vinyl it was!

I am so happy with how it turned out. I love finishing projects!!!

My Silhouette is already getting lots of use and it has only been 3 days!

Now onto more of my long over due projects :)

A Pink Thumb

Jenna received this awesome drawing book for her birthday (thank you Jane!)

This book has easy to follow instructions so Jenna can do it all on her own. Although I usually have a hard time keeping my thumb out of the fun!

We covered our kitchen island with paper and Jenna took off creating.

The skeleton had a little help from mom, but that is the only one.

Jenna was very proud of her "lady" (pilgrim) and the details she added. In Kindergarten it is all about adding details to their pictures. Jenna's favorite details are crowns (shown on the butterfly and flower) and hair flowers (on the lady). Often she gets really fancy and adds both!

Mom's huge thumb with Jenna's drawings, makes a fun little caterpillar whose legs are hidden in the grass (description by Jenna).

Unfortunately the ink from my stamps doesn't wash off right away. So if you see Jenna or I sporting a pink, orange, blue, or green thumb, you'll know what we have been up too :)

General Conference!

Yesterday morning I turned on the TV to watch General Conference. As soon as the Tabernacle choir started to sing, Jenna came running downstairs shouting "It's General Conference!". I thought it was so cute how excited she was. She then asked me, "Where are my papers?", referring to the printable conference packets. We usually focus on having her watch the Sunday sessions of Conference. But yesterday, while it was on TV she stayed in the family room listening as she played.

It's quite the set up. I'm glad that we have General Conference traditions.
