Renton River Days '09
Even though we no longer live in Renton we still attended the Renton River Days Kids day. It has become a tradition for us and Jenna is enjoying it more the older she gets. They have lots of different booths and free activities for the kids. We went with our friends, the Singley's, but ran into many other Rentonian buddies. One of the main highlights was the Youth Circus performance. Tickets were only 1 dollar per person, quite the bargain for the entertainment. This was the first time we stayed for it. It was really fun and impressive. Other memorable events: winning an animal grabber at the IKEA booth, waiting close to 30 min. in the face painting line to have Jenna get nervous and end with a design on her hand, Balloon animals, the endless fun Junk Chimes, sitting in the SWAT vehicle, and most fun for me having Jenna fall asleep the whole ride home and remaining alseep after being transfered to the couch!
It was a great day!

I did it!
After the race, Jenna wanted to wear my number on her shirt, it was so cute. One of my fav. things about these fun runs are all of the families running together. It is so cute watching these moms and dads encouraging and giving running tips to their child running with them. I would love to have these fun runs become a family tradition, I will probably wait for Jenna to get a little older though.
Even though I have met my goal, I am not finished. I love working towards a race date and it keeps me more focused and motivated. I'd like to participate in the Christmas rush fun run again, like last year. So we'll see what happens!

Jergensen Family Reunion
The last week of June we had our Jergensen family Reunion down at Lake Tahoe. We were only missing Chad's oldest sister Sunni, her husband and their 4 youngest kids. The youngest, Bryson, was born just a few days before the reunion!! We picked up their oldest 2 boys on our way down. So even though we missed the Wests, we were glad we got to see them for a few days before and after the reunion.
Here is a recap/highlights of our trip:
Sat. Day 1: corvette show and amazing pork sandwiches
Day 2: Fathers day, mini golf with the dads
Day 3: Guys day diving, free kids club (made necklaces, played games), bead store, cherades
Day 4: Girls day hike down to Emerald bay, Sprouts Cafe Mango-Limeade smoothy and ugly gooey nachos. Kids club (made egg carton creatures), watching the movie "Bolt" at the resort. Reno's Rodeo (a lot of fun), yummy ribs, big yellow fair slide.
Day 5: Beach Day at Sand Harbor beach on Lake Tahoe. Gorgeous! Playing in the water and sand. Tube rides and riding in Gpa's boat. More diving for the divers!
Day 6: Last time at the kids club (they painted on huge papers). Bike riding day. Nature walk/rest, in the middle of the bike ride. Ended with finding a great ice cream parlor!
Day 7: 2nd Beach day at Round Hill beach. More enjoying the views, sand and water. Jenna loved to be in that freezing water!
A big thank you to Rick and Lonna for organizing everything! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed being together with the family. One last highlight to mention was playing the card game "Scum" everynight after the kids went to bed. This has become a tradition that we just love!

Super Dad
Better late than never! Here is a pic from Fathers day. We were in Lake Tahoe for the holiday. We had a Jergensen family reunion there the last week of June (pics to come). It was a lot of fun. Jenna and I made Chad's tie. Actually, as Jenna informed Chad, "Mom made it while I was outside playing" :) He was a good sport to wear it. I figured it was safe since we would never see those people in the ward we attended again.
You cant' really tell from the pic, but I added red glitter to the "S" symbol. I figured is was a nice touch from the girls in his life!
