First Pigtails!

Today was an exciting day, I got Leah's hair into her very first pigtails!!
Haha, yes I am celebrating this :)
It's just so darn cute! I did have to wet it considerably. And there are a few short strays but we are off to a good start.
I had to also include a back view.
My baby girl is starting to look more like a little girl everyday!

We've Got Spirit, How About You?!!

Every Friday at school it is school spirit day. The kids are encouraged to wear the school colors.
Last year we bought a spirit t-shirt from the school. It still fits, but this year I wanted to give Jenna more variety.
Here is what my friend JoLynn and I came up with for our girls.
The shirts turned out so so cute! I'm a little obsessed with the rhinestones.
Jenna loves the Polar bear paw print. She said, "It looks like a real Polar bear stepped in white paint and then put it on my shirt." She cracks me up!

13 months!

As of the 6th of this month, Leah is 13 months old!
She continues to make us laugh everyday
She is quite the determined, strong willed little girl. She now throws mini fits when she doesn't get her way. It'll sure be nice when she communicates past screams :)
Leah is an awesome eater. I'm amazed at how well she does with just her two little bottom teeth!
She is also a lightening fast crawler, and loves to explore. She does love to stand up holding onto Mom, Dad, the couch, chair, etc. But has begun to let go and stand on her own, testing her balance.
I love watching her learn new things everyday!! She is such a joy!

First Grade!

Jenna had her first day of first grade today!
Right when she woke up she came running into our room shouting, "It's the first day of school!"
She was just a little bit excited :)
Her lunch bag all packed and ready to go.
(Minus the fork I noticed still sitting on the counter after dropping her off. Way to go Mom! I actually walked back over to the school and brought it to her. I wanted her to have a good lunch experience!)
All ready for school.
Jenna knew exactly how she wanted her hair. And it wouldn't be the first day of school without our traditional nail painting the night before. We did the hearts like last year. They are to remind her that I love her if she gets sad.
But after school she informed me that she didn't need the hearts to make her happy. All the fun they had in class is what made her happy --her words!
Go Polar Bears!
Her high cubby.
It's a good thing the teacher has a step stool for the kids to use. Even with the step stool Jenna struggled getting her backpack put away. She'll get the hang of it, right?!!
School buddies
Jenna and her friend Zariah, who were also in the same Kg class. They were so excited to see eachother!
With all of Jenna's excitement there was no room for me to get sad. I kept wondering why I was so worried, she was completely fine and loving every minute. I still missed her and so did Leah. And during Leah's nap the house was too quiet. I found myself counting down the hours until the end of the school day when I could go and pick her up.
Jenna was still all smiles after school when we picked her up. She said that the whole day was so great. She had 3 recesses!! Met a new friend at lunch. Got to do Math (she was super excited about this!). And it was Music day!
For some reason I thought she would just be exhausted at the end of the school day but no. She was still bouncing around until bedtime. On the walk home she did say that her tummy was rumbling and that she was hungry. We fixed that with some Mint Chocolate cookie pops.
Another funny thing Jenna mentioned was how she learned all of the rules. She talked about how she did a good job of looking at the teacher while she was teaching. And all evening she would very politely ask, "May I be excused to....use the restroom, leave the table and put my plate in the sink." And so on. Chad and I kept looking at eachother thinking that we sure like her new teacher!!!
I love my big girl and am so excited for her to have a fun school year.

A Camping We Will Go

Labor Day weekend we spent camping in Lake Chelan. It is tradition for a group of families in our ward and we were happy to join them this year.
It had been 4 years since we last went camping. So we were long over due!
Lake Chelan is gorgeous and the weather was perfect.
Jenna loved hanging out with all of the other kids. Leah did pretty well too. Even Emily joined the party. She loved all of the attention from the kids.
We had a lot of fun with all of the other families and getting to know them better.

Leah crawling around the tent, playing with her current best friend Orajel. She still only has 2 bottom teeth. Those darn top teeth are sure taking their time.
Chad and Jenna heading out on the Moulton's jet ski.
We enjoyed some awesome tube rides as well.

Peek-a-boo!
Leah's high chair :)
While packing up Leah found something to keep her occupied :)

Even though I was a bit vacationed out, I am so glad we made this last final trip of the summer. Jenna couldn't stop talking about how much fun she had and how much she loves camping and nature!
