Progress

Almost there...here is what my craft closet looks like so far.
*Scroll down a few posts to see the before pic.*

Much more organized=a much happier Den/office and Chad & Lindsey!
We made the green and yellow boxes. Chad helped out a ton. My goal is to have the shelves filled with the matching boxes. But for the time being, the random ones I have work great. I now have a separate drawer or box for fabric, yarn, ribbon, patterns, paint, you get the idea.
It was fun going through everything, remembering all of the diff. obsessions I've had over the years and the friends who joined in with me!

Things I realized while cleaning out the craft closet:
  • I own way too many rubber stamps (first craft craze)
  • I won't be needing cardstock anytime soon.
  • I have boxes and boxes of pre-digital pics beginning from over 10 yrs. ago, when Chad and I first met. They need a home other than a box.
  • I'm way over the scrapbooking phase, so what to do with all of the pictures in the boxes mentioned above. Any suggestions?
  • I have two months to make Jenna's preschool photo book. Her preschool craft box is overflowing, and it has to be empty by the time Kindergarten starts.

Pillow talk

(the title was Chad's idea!)

Our bed is now complete with 3 happy pillows. Chad is not big on accent pillows for the bed, but I was able to talk him into just a few. A little while ago I recovered some old pillows with the dark purple microfiber, and just today found the fabric for the smaller one. It was a remnant at Joann's that I bought for $2!! I couldn't be happier with it, and I have a good amount left over for something else to make for our bedroom. Not sure what yet.....I'll let you know what I come up with. I'm also up for any suggestions!
Now hopefully having cute pillows will motivate me to make our bed every morning :)

Update on the craft closet: It is over half way done.
Chad has been helping me make boxes in the sizes that I want and we only have a few more to make. It already looks so much better, so a completed organized craft closet pic should be coming soon!

My project for the week

No judging allowed :)
This is my craft closet in our Den right now.
The goal: to have this space neatly organized by the end of the week. Yes, I am giving myself a week, not a day!
I've been inspired yet again from the site www.makeit-loveit.com
If you haven't checked out this site yet, I hightly recommend it. I can't get enough of it and always find something I want to make or try.
Wish me luck, who knows what "treasures" I'll find, or items to add to our garage sale this summer :)
(Roseanne, hopefully this makes up for not posting pics of my messy closet. Which is actually clean and organized at the moment. Thanks for the kick start!)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful Mothers and Mother's to be!!
Those of us in western WA were spoiled with a beautiful sunny weekend. Both yesterday and today we cleaned off our patio furniture and had dinner outside. It was so nice, hopefully this will start to become more the norm (a girl can dream right?).
Well, this morning after being woken up by the sweet little kicks of baby sister, I was treated to breakfast in bed! Jenna is at such a fun age that all weekend she was wishing me a Happy Mother's day. She's like her momma and has a hard time keeping secrets. She kept telling me that she had something for me but it was a secret and she couldn't tell.

The secret: here is the stepping stone she made for me (with help from her daddy). These are the kind of gifts I love, anything that she was able to help create. It's beautifully displayed in our bark bed. She also brought home a cute decorated frame from preschool with her picture in it. She couldn't wait and gave it to me on the drive home that day :)

(FYI, there won't be too many of these)
This baby is a ton more active than Jenna was. It use to be just in the morning and evenings, and now is pretty much all day!
Jenna was dancing to some little einstein music from a baby toy this morning and babes was joining in! It was pretty funny, so Jenna got to finally feel her kick :)

Something a little diff. to note, the YM sang in church today instead of the primary children. I've never seen this before, but it was really touching. But next year, I want to see all the little kiddos up front waving to their moms! maybe they can trade on and off :)

After a tasty dinner of burgers made by Chad (he thought it was an odd Mday dinner request, but hey I'm pregnant) we made fruit pizza for dessert. Yummm!
What a way to end the day.
I am so grateful to Chad and Jenna for making this another terrific Mother's Day!

A Glimpse in the life of Scuba Chad

For all of you who wonder what it's like to go scuba diving, here is a fishes eye view. Chad got to use his early Birthday present on Sat. He bought an underwater case for our video camera. Dan Fletcher was his dive buddy, he's the one giving the OK sign. The video is a little rough at the beginning but gets better, practice makes perfect. This was also his first time using the editing software for the camera as well. It's his latest obsession. It makes me a little envious that I won't be able to go for awhile, but at least I did get certified. I'll have to settle for living through his little videos :) Enjoy!

FYI: the visibility is pretty poor, Winter is the best for the Sound.
