Leah is ONE!!

Happy First Birthday Leah!
Leah got to have her party out at the lake cabin. She was pretty excited about her cake at first. Then after eating mostly frosting for a bit she quickly got bored and frustrated until we showed her what was under the frosting. But she still just picked at her cake. Which isn't her usual inhaling style :)
It was still a great day and we loved celebrating her first year.
Fun facts about Leah:
Loves books--especially turning the pages all by herself
Favorite song--Twinkle twinkle little star. She loves to "Aahh" along.
Favorite foods--Cheerios, applesauce, peaches, jam sandwiches, any kind of bread and bananas. She is actually a really good eater. She has just started to turn her head at foods and throws it off her tray when she is done.
One speedy crawler-- she loves to explore around the house or follow mom :)
Has only 2 teeth--but loves to smile and show them off (and her dimples!)
Loves her big sister-- Jenna will really be missed when school starts

We love our little Leah and are so glad to have her in our family!

Party House

We had a little swim party at my parents house for all the cousins.
Splashing buddies Sydney and Leah.
Taking turns down the slide. They all had a blast.
Taking a break to jump on the trampoline
This girl loves to splash.
She is just as crazy in the tub too. We have to line the bathroom floor with towels!
Thanks Grandpa and Grandma, it's always a party at your house!!

**Whew, that was a lot of blogging. Too bad I don't learn my lesson and blog in a timely manner!**

Spirit Lake, ID

Right after our trip to Utah we had a few down weeks. Or I should say Chad did. He had hernia surgery 2 days after we got back, planned. And to add to the crazy timing Jenna got sick the same day as Chad's surgery. So Chad was recovering upstairs, while Jenna made the couch her home downstairs. I'm not going to lie, I about lost my mind running back and forth taking care of the two. But we all made it, Chad and Jenna are both 100% better!!!
Just in time for another family reunion, with my family over in Spirit Lake, ID.
Many of you have heard of my love for this piece of heaven. My Grandparents have had this lake cabin since I can remember. I grew up having family reunions here every summer. So it holds a lot of special memories. Playing with cousins, learning to swim, ski, wakeboard, killer tube rides, just to name a few :) All of which I hope to pass onto my children now.
The weather was perfect everyday, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
My uncle Chris and his family joined us for the first part of the week. It was great seeing their family and having our kids play.
Fishing off the dock, even if they didn't have hooks. They could do this for hours :)
Lounging with cousin Brooklyn
Leah and Sydney two peas in a pack n play!
Spending time with Great Grandma
Riding in the boat. One can never get enough boat rides!
I think we need a few more kids on that tube!!
One evening Jenna was excitedly telling everyone,"I went on 4 tube rides today!"
After that she would report the growing tube ride tally each day :)
Even Emily came along to join the fun.
Yep, that's my awesome husband skiing.
Skiing was not my friend this year, so now I'm more determined for next summer :)

It was a great week with all of my family.
Now can you see why this is one of my favorite places ever?!!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

On our drive back home we made a stop in Logan. I know I've already mentioned this, but this was Chad's first time back to Logan since he graduated from Utah State. Jenna and I made the trip when she was 1, but it was great to be there as a family.
I didn't realize how much I missed Logan, but as we drove past all of our old apartments (3 total in 4 yrs., we liked to move!) we were reminded of so many wonderful memories. It seems like a different life, which it kind of was. For our first 4 years of marriage, it was just Chad and I. I worked at Dillards in cosmetics, Chad went to school and worked at Fred Meyer in electronics (now Smith's Marketplace). I am grateful for that time, we learned a lot and grew stronger as a couple.
Our first stop was....
Leah got her first taste of ice cream, yum yum!
Jenna enjoying her Aggie blue mint ice cream
Then we were off to the "A" and a stroll around campus.
Old Main
The beautiful Logan Temple.
Jenna said that it looked like a castle :)
We really enjoyed revisiting all of these places and showing them to our girls. After our mini tour we met up with our friends, The Chambers and Saxtons. I was so glad that Charisse stopped by with her adorable family. It was great seeing her and Brittany's family.
They made a delicious dinner, I am now addicted to that coconut rice :) And Jenna loved playing with her kids. I wish we lived closer so that we could catch up and chat more often.
I sure do miss those girls and all the other cosmetic crew!! Thank goodness for Facebook so that I can keep in contact with them, haha :)
So goodbye for now Logan, hopefully we will visit again soon!

Other Park City Highlights

You can't have a reunion without a reunion shirt!!

Here is the whole family :)
Family talent show--this was such a fun night. We will for sure have to do it again.
Here are the cousins with their Aunt Rachel. She taught them a fun rhyming story to encourage reading. The kids all loved it!
(left to right--Whitney, Lucy, Taylor, Jenna, Macy, Brandon, Rachel, Sierra and Carter)
4 Generations!
The girls got to meet their Nana for the first time. That just shows you how long it has been since we have been back to Utah. It was so wonderful getting to spend time with her.
We sure had a lot of fun in Park City and loved hanging out with all of the family.
It's always fun to see the cousins all getting along so well. We had a lot of fun game nights too, scum is always popular. And our new tradition Minute to Win it, which the outlaws won by the way!!! I even beat Chad at the "chocolate unicorn"!
Thank you Rick and Lonna for all of your work in organizing another successful family reunion!

4th of July

Back to sharing our fabulous family reunion in Park City!
The 4th of July!
That morning we enjoyed Park Cities parade. Bubbles were the main source of entertainment until the parade started. It was quite an exciting event.
The girls in their matching patriotic shirts and hair bows. I really am enjoying making everything in twos :)
Leah showing that she's proud to be an American :)
We finished the day off by attending the Oakley Rodeo. It was great fun. That little town sure knows how to put on an event. Jenna loved watching the Rodeo princesses and of course all of the horses! The event ended with a firework show, it wouldn't have been complete without it :)

For Grandma!

I have yet to transfer most of our summer pics from Chads laptop to our computer at home. The rest of our trip to Utah, the Moore family Reunion and Leah's first birthday will all be coming soon.
But in the meantime, this if for you Momma Sue :)

Leah got her first casualty from pulling herself up, holding onto a wobbly toy.
This girl loves to stand ( not quite on her own yet).
Can't get enough cheerios. She eats them by the handful!
One of her favorite toys. She will play like this for quite awhile. Our baby Beethoven :) Seriously cannot believe she is already a year old. She brings so much happiness to our family!
